Vignette Home Design turned 2 this past July and is celebrating by setting up a second shop at the very trendy and hip Laurel Grove of Sudbury. Fall Fest in Sudbury begins tomorrow, September 1st (also my birthday!). The feel of my space is "farmhouse", including my Farmhouse Sugar cookies, which will be available and fresh from the oven. I'll bake in the morning after I walk the dog and pick some fresh flowers for display. Hope you'll come visit :-)
Recipe for Farmhouse Sugar Cookie
Cookie dough: 3 cups King Arthur Flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 3/4 tsp salt, 1 cup unsalted butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar, 1/4 cup cream cheese, 1/4 tsp almond extract, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 large egg, Topping: 3/4 cup sugar
Directions: Preheat oven to 375. Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper. Whisk dry ingredients. Cream together butter, sugar and cream cheese. Add extracts and egg. Add flour mixture until moistened. Scoop dough into tablespoonfuls and roll in topping sugar until coated. Place on prepared cookie sheets, 2" apart, and flatten to about 1/4" thick, using spatula or glass bottom. Bake 10 minutes for a softer cookie or 12 minutes for a crunchier cookie. Cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!
